What is the Jackson House Clubhouse?

The Jackson House "Clubhouse" is an HBHS sponsored program for the social and vocational rehabilitation of adults (18 years and older) with mental disabilities. The Jackson House or "Clubhouse" is a part of the continuum of care provided by Hinds Behavioral Health Services. The clubhouse concept was created to help its members manage symptoms of mental illness through vocational and psychosocial rehabilitation activities. The Clubhouse participants are known as "members."

The structure of the program is based upon operating in a work-ordered day and offers 3 work units:

    Property Management Unit
  • Gardening
  • Thrift Store
  • Administrative Support Services
  • Employment
  • Food Services
  • Kitchen
  • Snack Bar

How do I become a Member?

You must be a registered consumer of Hinds Behavioral Health Services and be referred to the Clubhouse based on program criteria by your doctor, case manager and/or therapist. This program is for registered HBHS adult consumers, 18 years of age and older, who have been diagnosed with Serious Mental Illness(SMI).
