Position: Psychiatrist

Department: Medical Services

Job Summary: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing sound medical care, assessing consumer needs for mental health services in a timely fashion; completing initial psychiatric evaluation, conducting medication evaluations as necessary to monitor consumer care and stability. Interviewing consumers and significant others to identify extent and effects of disorder(s). Assists in developing and implementing specific treatment/service plan based on study of consumer’s problems for an assigned caseload of consumers with mental health disorders and/or chemical dependency disorders, and facilitating compliance to clients of all age groups; in outpatient and emergency services.

Qualifications: Must be licensed in the State of Mississippi as a practicing physician. Board certification is also preferred. Previous experience in a chemical dependency treatment or mental health setting preferred. Ability to see all age groups preferred. Prefer experience in psychiatric consumer care throughout the life cycle. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric) limitations and planned procedures. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases, with occasional exposure to unpleasant consumer elements. Good communication skills are necessary.

Position: Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Department: Medical Services

Job Summary: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides medical care to all age groups with mental health disorders and/or chemical dependency disorders. In addition, the Nurse provides diagnostic and therapeutic psychiatric services to Hinds Behavioral Health Services (HBHS) consumers, while making reasonable and sound Psychological/psychiatric assessments and treatment plans.

Qualifications: Master's Degree in Nursing with specialty in Psychiatry/Mental Health and a valid Mississippi License. Board certification required. Accept or eligible to be accepted by all major insurance providers. Previous experience in a chemical dependency treatment or mental health setting preferred. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Position: Medical Records Clerk

Department:Medical Records

Job Summary: Locates, logs, delivers, retrieves, and files medical records as required. Maintains establish departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety. Delivers and retrieves consumer charts from clinics practitioners; establishes and maintain files and records on an ongoing basis. Answers telephone and gives routine information.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in medical record keeping is desirable. Necessary skills include filing, typing and organizational skills.

Position: Mental Health Therapist

Department:Children & Youth Services

Job Summary: Provides mental health assessment, evaluation, and counseling for children with emotional/behavioral/ conduct disorders and families of those children. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, crisis intervention, psychosocial assessment, individual group & family therapy and provision training workshops in area of expertise.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field and experience as a clinician. Must been licensed or certified as a mental health professional. LMSW or LPC preferred; or must obtain a Provisional Certification through the department of mental health (PCMHT) and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from hire date and (CMHT) must be obtained within to 2 years from the date of hire. Requires flexibility regarding working conditions and assignments, good oral and written communication skills and thorough knowledge of psychiatric disorders and corresponding treatment. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Must have valid driver’s license in Mississippi and proof of auto insurance. Position: Employment Specialist

Department:Treatment Services

Job Summary: Assists, investigates and secures employment for assigned individuals in the PACT Program. Engages individuals and establishes trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in community settings. This position is grant-based and the majority of the work will be in the community.

Previous experience working with people with serious mental illnesses, experience providing employment services, and knowledge of the work world are preferred. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Must have a valid driver’s license in Mississippi and continued proof of auto insurance. Position: Peer Support Specialist (4 part-time positions)

Job Summary: The Peer Specialist will perform a wide range of tasks to assist peers of all ages in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as role models to peers, helping other consumers with skill building, goal setting, problem-solving and finding resources. This position is grant-based and the majority of the work will be in the community.

Qualifications: Must possess High School diploma or GED equivalent, self-identify as a current or former consumer of mental health services, demonstrates a minimum of 6 months in self-directed recovery within the last year, or self-identity as first degree family member. Individuals must successfully complete the DMH approved Certified Peer Specialist training and certification exam to become a Certified Peer Support Specialist. Also, individuals have a valid driver license, a good driving record, proof of legally required auto liability insurance, and must be willing to use personal vehicle for agency business.
