Position: Psychiatrist

Department: Medical Services

Job Summary: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing sound medical care, assessing consumer needs for mental health services in a timely fashion; completing initial psychiatric evaluation, conducting medication evaluations as necessary to monitor consumer care and stability. Interviewing consumers and significant others to identify extent and effects of disorder(s). Assists in developing and implementing specific treatment/service plan based on study of consumer’s problems for an assigned caseload of consumers with mental health disorders and/or chemical dependency disorders, and facilitating compliance to clients of all age groups; in outpatient and emergency services.

Qualifications: Must be licensed in the State of Mississippi as a practicing physician. Board certification is also preferred. Previous experience in a chemical dependency treatment or mental health setting preferred. Ability to see all age groups preferred. Prefer experience in psychiatric consumer care throughout the life cycle. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric) limitations and planned procedures. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases, with occasional exposure to unpleasant consumer elements. Good communication skills are necessary.

Position: Registered Nurse

Department:Nursing Services

Job Summary: Provide nursing care services of psychiatric consumers. Designs nursing care plans and assists in the development of the overall care plan for psychiatric consumers. Ensures appropriate overall care is administered in a manner conducive to recovery.

Qualifications: Minimum Associate’s degree in nursing required; current RN license in Mississippi and previous psychiatric experience preferred. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (young-adults, Middle-Aged and Geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Good oral and written communication skills are necessary. Must have a valid Mississippi driver’s license and continued proof of auto insurance. OSHA - moderate to high risk. May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases; occasional exposure to unpleasant consumer or unit elements, subject to varying and unpredictable situations.

Position: Substance Abuse Specialist

Department:PACT Team

Job Summary: Provide mental health assessments, evaluations, and counseling for consumers with chemical dependency and families of those consumers in the PACT Program. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, crisis intervention, acute psychiatric therapy, coordination of consumer referral, and provision of planned education/growth experiences. Reports to PACT Program Team Leader.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Chemical Abuse Treatment or a related field required. Experience as a clinician in a mental health setting or substance abuse treatment facility is preferred. Must be licensed or certified as a mental health professional. A Provisional Certification (PCMHT) through the Department of Mental Health must be acquired and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from hire date and (CMHT) must be obtained within 2 years from the date of hire. Licensor or certification as a Substance Abuse counselor through the Department of Mental Health must be obtained. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Good communication skills are necessary. Must have valid driver’s license in Mississippi and maintain proof of auto insurance. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

Position: Community Support Specialist I

Department:Community Support, A&D Services

Position: Customer Services Specialist I

Department:Customer Services

Job Summary: Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards of Hinds Behavioral Health Services (HBHS). The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Answers incoming appointment calls in a manner that is consistent with Agency values. Assists callers who are in need of immediate services due to a crisis situation and help stabilize the situation and arrange for on-site follow-up, if needed. Assesses the needs of each caller to determine appropriate services needed. Complete outbound calls, emails, and text to effectively coordinate care and resolve crisis situations; operate within required timeframes. Maintains a log of all calls received, and provides weekly report to immediate supervisor. Serves as a backup for other support services specialist. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops. Performs other duties as ssigned or requested..

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor degree preferred. Prior training or experience in a mental health setting preferred. Skills needed include answering telephones, maintaining filing systems and logs, scheduling appointments; proficiency in use of Microsoft office package. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Occasional prolonged standing and walking; lifts and moves supplies and equipment; mostly sedentary work.
