Position: Coordinator of Dual Diagnosis Substance Abuse Prevention

Department: A & D Services

Job Summary: Provides operational management of the Dual Diagnosis Substance Abuse Prevention Program. Assists in the development and implementation of the policies, practices, and program plans of the service managed and the facility. Creates an environment conducive to high-quality consumer care. Focuses on the delivery and evaluation of care. Provides administrative and clinical supervision of the substance abuse program and staff.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in chemical dependency treatment, psychology, social work or a related field. Three years experience in a mental health services delivery setting and at least one year supervisory experience is required; at least two years experience working with substance abuse service delivery is preferred. Must possess a mental health license or certification, or be eligible for such. If without a current license, a Provisional Certification through the Department of Mental Health (PCMHT) must be acquired and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from hire date and CMHT must be obtained within 2 years for the date of hire. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Good communication skills are necessary. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

Position: Psychiatrist

Department: Medical Services

Job Summary: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing sound medical care, assessing consumer needs for mental health services in a timely fashion; completing initial psychiatric evaluation, conducting medication evaluations as necessary to monitor consumer care and stability. Interviewing consumers and significant others to identify extent and effects of disorder(s). Assists in developing and implementing specific treatment/service plan based on study of consumer’s problems for an assigned caseload of consumers with mental health disorders and/or chemical dependency disorders, and facilitating compliance to clients of all age groups; in outpatient and emergency services.

Qualifications: Must be licensed in the State of Mississippi as a practicing physician. Board certification is also preferred. Previous experience in a chemical dependency treatment or mental health setting preferred. Ability to see all age groups preferred. Prefer experience in psychiatric consumer care throughout the life cycle. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric) limitations and planned procedures. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases, with occasional exposure to unpleasant consumer elements. Good communication skills are necessary.

Position: Registered Nurse

Job Summary: Provide nursing care services of psychiatric consumers. Designs nursing care plans and assists in the development of the overall care plan for psychiatric consumers. Ensures appropriate overall care is administered in a manner conducive to recovery.

Qualifications: Minimum Associate’s degree in nursing required; current RN license in Mississippi and previous psychiatric experience preferred. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (young-adults, Middle-Aged and Geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Good oral and written communication skills are necessary. OSHA - moderate to high risk. Position: Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides medical care to all age groups with mental health disorders and/or chemical dependency disorders. In addition, the Nurse provides diagnostic and therapeutic psychiatric services to Hinds Behavioral Health Services (HBHS) consumers, while making reasonable and sound Psychological/psychiatric assessments and treatment plans.

Qualifications: Master's Degree in Nursing with specialty in Psychiatry/Mental Health and a valid Mississippi License. Board certification required. Accept or eligible to be accepted by all major insurance providers. Previous experience in a chemical dependency treatment or mental health setting preferred. Position: Community Support Specialist I/Adult Services

Job Summary: Functions as a case manager for an assigned caseload of adults with serious and persistent mental disorders. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting, developing and/or applying the treatment/service plan and facilitating compliance. Serves as a member of appropriate interdisciplinary treatment team.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field required. A Provisional Certification through the Department of Mental Health (PCCSS) must be acquired and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from hire date and (CSSP) must be obtained within 2 years from the date of hire.
